PRIMA SUREPASTOR – Kick-off meeting

On January 18th and 19th, 2024, the kick-off meeting for the SUREPASTOR project took place, bringing together experts, researchers, and stakeholders from various Mediterranean countries. This pivotal event marked the beginning of coordinated efforts to promote sustainable and resilient agropastoralism in the region.

Key discussions during the meeting focused on the project’s ambitious objectives, including improving the resilience of pastoral communities to climate change and the adoption of innovative technologies. Attendees also explored strategies to enhance the socioeconomic conditions of farmers while minimising environmental impacts.

Additionally, plans were outlined to actively involve young people and women in the project’s activities, underscoring the commitment to fostering inclusive and sustainable development within pastoral communities.
