Launching SUREPASTOR in Ollolai

On July 25th, 2024, the launch event of the SUREPASTOR project was held at the Orto Botanico in Ollolai (NU), offering a platform to present innovations aimed at fostering more sustainable and resilient agropastoralism.
The program included the following key activities:
- Welcome Address: Francesco Columbu, Mayor of Ollolai, greeted the participants.
- Project Presentation: Carolina Pugliese (UNIFI) introduced the SUREPASTOR project, highlighting its objectives and anticipated impacts.
- Innovative Proposals:
- Precision livestock farming techniques, presented by Andrea Confessore (UNIFI).
- Innovative pasture management strategies, shared by Antonello Franca (CNR ISPAAM).
- Environmental certification to enhance pastoral products, discussed by Enrico Vagnoni (CNR IBE).
A Focus Group session followed, where participants evaluated the innovative proposals and their relevance to pastoral farm needs. This session was coordinated by Stefania Solinas and Anna Piras (CNR IBE).
The day concluded with a Pilot Farm Visit, led by Cristina Bussu, showcasing practical examples of innovation in pastoral practices.
This event marked an important milestone in advancing the goals of the SUREPASTOR project.
