SUREPASTOR Project Presentation in Tuscany

On October 23, 2024, the SUREPASTOR project was successfully presented in an online and physical event, bringing together experts and stakeholders to explore sustainable practices in pastoral farming in Tuscany, Italy.

Event Highlights:

• Welcome Greetings: Claudia Fedi from Coldiretti Toscana opened the session, setting the stage for an engaging day of discussions.
• Project Overview: Carolina Pugliese from DAGRI, UNIFI, provided a comprehensive introduction to the SUREPASTOR initiative, emphasizing its objectives and innovative approaches.
• Innovative Proposals:
  • Precision Livestock Farming for sheep and goat breeding, presented by Andrea Confessore (DAGRI, UNIFI).
  • Innovative Pasture Management, shared by Luca de Guttry (DAGRI, UNIFI).
  • Environmental Certification to enhance the value of pastoral products, highlighted by Enrico Vagnoni from CNR IBE.

Following a short break, a Focus Group session encouraged interactive discussions, promoting collaboration on the project’s key themes.

The event concluded with a Feedback Session, during which participants shared insights and outlined the next steps for the project’s continued development.
