Daily life in Bussu Farm
Each day begins with feeding and caring for the flock of Sarda sheep, which includes ewes, rams, and replacement lambs all bred and raised on the farm. Milking follows the morning routines, with milk collected for direct sale. Seasonal fieldwork focuses on forage production—haymaking, harvesting, and pasture management—ensuring autonomy in feed supply. Lambing, which occurs annually in late spring, is a central moment of the farming cycle, with lambs weaned at one month and sold locally. Daily work also includes maintaining equipment, overseeing veterinary visits, and preparing products for market, reflecting a balance of tradition and modern farm management.
