How can innovation and new technologies help make sheep grazing systems more resilient to climate change?
The OVINNOVA webinar, held on 9 September 2026, brought together researchers, farmers, agricultural organisations and project partners to present innovative approaches for the rational and climate-resilient management of extensive sheep farming in Tuscany.
The programme included the presentation of the OVINNOVA project and its initial activities, experiences from partner farms, and technical insights into technological, agronomic and zootechnical applications.
A dedicated networking session also highlighted innovations in the sheep sector in Sardinia, featuring the PRIMA SUREPASTOR project, presented by Antonello Franca (CNR-ISPAAM).

As part of the networking and collaboration session, Antonello Franca from CNR-ISPAAM presented the PRIMA SUREPASTOR project, showcasing innovations and approaches supporting the resilience and sustainability of sheep farming in Sardinia.

The webinar was organised within the OVINNOVA project, involving partners including Associazione Sviluppo Rurale Toscana, UNIFI-DAGRI, AgriZapp and participating agricultural businesses and organisations.
The initiative is implemented under the CSR Regione Toscana 2023–2027, Intervention SRG01 – Sostegno ai Gruppi Operativi PEI AGRI, and co-financed by the European Union through the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD).
